We Band Together is an online platform dedicated to fostering artistic collaboration among the community of young creatives in Philadelphia. Our mission is to empower emerging artists by helping them build professional portfolios, develop and refine skills, and explore innovative ways to connect, collaborate, and create together.
Today, thanks to social media and streaming platforms, it’s more possible than ever to build a creative career without a label or agency. However, while growing an online presence can expose you to a wider audience, it can also mean missing out on key resources and networking opportunities that a label, agency, or in-person engagements can provide. Working online also often results in a lack of in-person interaction between the artist and audience – an exchange that is as old as art itself. Without this exchange, the community building capacity that live performance has always provided is lost.
We Band Together connects creatives to their local arts scene, forging meaningful connections and communities while plugging the gap in resources by connecting independent artists directly. Whether you need artwork for your record, a studio or sound engineer, a band for live performances, or feedback on lyrics, our platform provides the community needed to help your creative vision reach its full potential.
ABOUT
Growing up in Philly, I've always felt connected to the local music scene, which, though small, is tight-knit. There’s a thriving street art culture here, along with local groups, small venues like Underground Arts and JC Dobbs, and many independent musicians. It’s a city where different forms of art, including music and film, come together.
I wrote my first song when I was ten years old, but I didn’t start recording until my first year of high school, when my dad—a sound engineer—introduced me to Logic. At the time, I was playing guitar, bass, and keyboard, while blending in digital instruments and samples, and other sounds that I wouldn’t otherwise have access to. When I needed a real drummer for one of my songs but couldn’t find anyone to collaborate with, I realized how valuable a platform for young musicians to connect would be.
This sparked the idea for We Band Together, where I hope to both provide and find the community artists need.
